Words of Wisdom

Here are the words of wisdom shared by the employees of Trempealeau County Health Care Center:

Life is Short.
Live Your Dream and Wear Your Passion,

Do What You Love and Do It Often!!
“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.” -Winston Churchill In the bad times, choose to grow stronger. In the good times, choose to enjoy fully. In all times, choose to be GRATEFUL. Treat everyone the way you would like to be treated.
“If you have never felt humility. then you can not be humble.
If you ever look into lost eyes, and not have been lost…
You will never learn the way home.
If you have never felt compassion, you can not be compassionate. If a moment goes by and you don’t recognize it as being good, you will not find another.
Find your passion to have compassion: find your humility to be humble: and then you will find your way home.” -P.Fox.

“I would love to live
Like a river flows,
Carried by the surprise
Of its own unfolding.”
–John O’Donohue

“There is something healing in the repeated refrains of nature – the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter.” – Rachel Carson, The Sense of Wonder “What is it that stands higher than words? Action.
What is it that stands higher than action? Silence.”
— Francis of Assisi
Teacher to student…
“Instead of apologize, I encourage them to ask, ‘What can I do to make things better?’ The common response was, ‘Promise me you won’t do that again.’ Once the promise was given, we were finished, and everyone was vigilant to see that the offensive behavior really would not repeat itself. A negative encounter was not something to be ‘fixed’ through an apology. It was an opportunity to discover how we could learn to live with one another with a greater sense of safety and appreciation for our personal boundaries.”
From Clay Giraffe by Donald Samson

“The secret to having it all is to be content with what you have.” -Author Unknown Forget all the reasons why it won’t work and believe in the one reason why it will! “The Past is History;
the Future is a Mystery;
this Moment is a Gift;
that’s why it’s called
the Present.”
-Author unknown
Sometimes it is better to be kind than to be right. We do not need an intelligent mind that speaks, but a patient heart that listens. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching. People may not remember you for what you say or what you do. They will remember how you made them feel. “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life believing it’s stupid.” -A. Einstein
“There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly live.” -Dalai Lama Hope but never expect.
Look forward, but never wait.
This is the beginning of anything you want. Collect moments, not things.
Courage is not the absence of fear but the decision that something is more important than that fear. Want what you have, and you will always have what you want Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. Seek the wisdom that will untie your knot. Seek the path that demands your whole being.
Whatever brings you to your knees in weakness carries the greatest potential for your personal success and spiritual victory. Our greatest battle are those with our own mind. Don’t wish it were easier…wish you were better. Rise to the occasion! “The best way to cheer yourself is to try to cheer someone else up.” – Mark Twain
“If for Nurses”
If you can bring a special understanding to all of those entrusted to your care, And meet their needs, no matter how demanding, with patience and with energy to spare, If you take pride in giving your profession the finest skills and talents you possess, Then all your worthy goals have found expression And, as a nurse, you are a great success.
We are at all times both teacher and student. “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” – Dr. Seuss If it is to be, it is up to me.
“I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catchers mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.” – Maya Angelou “In a gentle way, you can shake the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” – Plato “Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.” – Margaret Mead
“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.” – Buddha “Every morning when you wake up, look in the mirror and give yourself a compliment.” -Grandma “I tell you that if I kept patience and was not upset that is true joy and true virtue and salvation of the soul.” -St. Francis of Assisi
“I had a lot of troubles in my life but most of them never happened.” -Mark Twain
Success is getting up one more time than falling down. “Where Focus Goes Energy Flows!” -Tony Robbins You may not be able to control every situation and its outcome, but you can control your attitude and how you deal with it. Life is an occasion, rise to it.
“Sometimes the easiest way to solve a problem is to stop participating in the problem.”-Jonathon Mead Have stories to tell, not stuff to show! Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty. “When you wake up, seek the courage and strength to do the right thing. Decide that this will be another day in which you ‘Walk The Talk’.” – Eric Harvey, Walk The Talk
Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words.Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior.

Keep you behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits.

Keep you habits positive because your habits become your values.

Keep you values positive because your values become your destiny.

-Mahatma Gandhi

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” -John Quincy Adams
If you are willing to look at another person’s behavior toward you as a reflection of the state of their relationship with themselves rather than a statement about your value as a person, then you will, over a period of time cease to react at all.
“Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.” -Steve Jobs
You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore. -Christopher Columbus If you limit your choices only to what SEEMS possible or reasonable, you DISCONNECT yourself from what you TRULY WANT, and all that is left is COMPRMISE. -Robert Fritz You are here —- be present. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday!
Everything in your life is a reflection of a choice you have made. If you want a different result make a different choice. If you allow a sore to fester, it generally will. There is often an uncommonness about common sense. Have you ever wondered which hurts most:
Saying something you wish you had not,
or saying nothing
and wishing you had?
