Internships

The Trempealeau County Health Care Center is eager to assist students in gaining the education and clinical experience needed to pursue a career as a psychologist, social worker or professional counselor.

The Trempealeau County Health Care Center provides unique training experiences for students along with an opportunity to work with an array of mental health, geriatric and intellectual issues. Within each level of training we offer clinical experience, supervision, consultation services and exposure to working as a member of an intensive interdisciplinary team.

Social Work: Bachelors

This internship provides in-depth clinical knowledge and skills that enable a student to deliver comprehensive social services in either the clinical long-term care treatment or community setting. It provides the rich experiences needed to create a competent social worker. You will gain knowledge regarding a variety of illnesses including mental health and chemical dependency. Knowledge gained in our long-term nursing facility is on Alzheimer’s, dementia, and family dynamics.

Duration of internship is flexible, and we do have the flexibility to fulfill school requirements. TCHCC requires a minimum of 16 hours per week for internships with the hours of operation from 8-4:00 Monday through Friday. Location of the internship would be in our Social Services department at various locations determined by your supervisor.
